Leadership
David founded Rent IQ to solve the inefficiencies he witnessed throughout the Canadian rental market. Rent IQ is leasing software that automates tour scheduling and displays real-time unit availability on property websites, allowing property managers to fill vacancies faster while making the leasing process easier for rental prospects.
Prior to founding Rent IQ, David worked at Urbanation, Toronto's leading real estate research firm, where he conducted market feasibility studies for new apartment developments across Canada. His projects included the original 2021 Halifax Shopping Centre redevelopment proposal, a mixed-use development plan with approximately 5,560 residential units.
Through his market research work, David consistently saw the same problems—properties not displaying availability on their websites, prospects waiting days for responses about which units were available, and leasing staff spending hours on repetitive scheduling inquiries. He founded Rent IQ to modernize leasing operations and deliver operational efficiency to rental property managers.
